As part of an investigation conducted by the Lublin branch of the Organized Crime and Corruption Department of the State Prosecutor's Office, internal security agency staff and police detained five people: two Ukrainian citizens - Alexander S. and minor Sofia X., and three Belarusian citizens - Victor M., Anton M., and Vladimir U.
The prosecutors accused the detained individuals of "supporting foreign intelligence actions against the Republic of Poland" in 2024.
The suspects established contact with foreign intelligence representatives through the Telegram messenger and completed assigned tasks, including taking and transferring photo documents of critical infrastructure facilities and locations vital to national security. The suspects received cryptocurrency wages for completing the tasks. They face penalties ranging from 5 to 30 years in prison.
For the three suspects, the Lublin Court took preventive measures, namely temporary detention for three months. For the minor Sofia Kh., the court took measures to place him in a juvenile detention center for three months. For suspect Vladimir U., due to poor health, the prosecutor took preventive measures to prohibit his departure from the country.
