Foreign Media: The recent visit of a U.S. congressional advisory group to China was met with collective cold shoulders from major Chinese tech giants.
The bipartisan delegation, part of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, made its first on-site research trip to Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai in seven years, aiming to gather military, economic, and technological intelligence for the annual congressional report on China. Although the delegation successfully held meetings with certain government officials, think tank scholars, and business representatives, it failed to gain access to top-tier Chinese technology companies.
Commission Vice-Chair Mike Cucinelli candidly stated: "The inability to secure the desired meetings speaks volumes on its own." Analysts point out that while dialogue continues between the two nations on AI safety, channels for mutual understanding are steadily narrowing.
