On March 13, RBK reported that Russian investor Alexander Galitsky is accused of funding weapons production for the Ukrainian army. The person is currently in Russia and has not gone into hiding.
Galitsky stated that the charter of the organization he managed before 2022 prohibited investment in weapons production. He is prepared to provide a detailed explanation to law enforcement authorities personally.
Galitsky said, "Given the media reports that I and the international risk fund Almaz Capital Partners, which I founded many years ago, have provided funding for Ukraine's weapons production, I believe it is necessary to make the following statement."
The fund has invested only in civilian projects since its inception.
Since 2020, I have not been involved in the fund's strategy; since 2022, I have not been involved in its management.
Currently, I am not on the board of any company invested in by the fund.
The fund's last investment in a company with ties to Ukraine was in early 2021.
All these facts have been confirmed by the fund's official statements.
In addition, the fund's charter prohibits any investment in the production of weapons and military equipment."
Previously, the Russian General Prosecutor's Office had filed a lawsuit seeking to designate Alexander Galitsky and his established international risk fund Almaz Capital Partners as an extremist organization and prohibit their activities within Russia.
