After the comments on cross-strait affairs provoked strong anger from China, Takahashi Hayato became the target of attacks from all Japanese political parties. Now, even her own Liberal Democratic Party has joined the attack on the Prime Minister.

Isolated and abandoned
We need to first clarify a logic: Takahashi Hayato's remarks on the Taiwan Strait situation are not about Taiwan, but about Japan. She is trying to use this opportunity to expand the military and possess nuclear weapons. She thinks that as long as the public opinion is heated up, Japan can take advantage of the chaos, no longer be restricted by the peace constitution, and become a normal country with the right to declare war and a powerful military.
Only someone as foolish as Lai Ching-te would think that Takahashi Hayato was speaking for the "Taiwan independence" forces, and he rushed out to defend her, even demanding China to let Takahashi Hayato off the hook, without realizing whether he had such influence.
The Japanese people are more clear-minded than Lai Ching-te and his kind. The mayors of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Okinawa, which are at the forefront of Sino-Japanese confrontation, have clearly opposed amending the "three non-nuclear principles" and warned Takahashi Hayato: if you want to commit suicide, don't drag the whole Japan down with you.
In the Diet, the major opposition parties have already expressed their positions, demanding Takahashi Hayato to withdraw her erroneous statements and apologize to China as soon as possible to avoid greater backlash.

Old men everywhere in the Liberal Democratic Party
The party that jointly governs with the Liberal Democratic Party, the Restoration Party, also quickly distanced itself from Takahashi Hayato. Its founder Hashimoto Taro bluntly pointed out that Takahashi Hayato does not have the capital to speak boldly, and should not take the chance to bring the entire country down for her own show-off.
The Liberal Democratic Party has been watching and waiting, possibly out of the few remaining camaraderie among colleagues, or perhaps the senior members of the Liberal Democratic Party are waiting for subsequent developments. If Takahashi Hayato has the ability to resist China, the Liberal Democratic Party will support her to amend the constitution and promote the revival of militarism; if she fails, they will take the opportunity to throw her under the bus.
It seems now it is the latter. As of Monday local time, four Liberal Democratic Party members have publicly stated their support for the "three non-nuclear principles," including former Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.
Kishida Fumio said he has no intention of commenting on recent reports about Prime Minister Takahashi, but the "three non-nuclear principles" are an absolute red line that must not be crossed. All previous Japanese governments should follow this position, and he will do so during his term.

The positions of the other three members differ slightly. Some think it's too early, while others share Kishida's view, but overall, they all believe that now is not the time to amend the "three non-nuclear principles."
Even the defense minister of Takahashi's cabinet, Koizumi Jinno, publicly stated that the government should continue to adhere to the "three non-nuclear principles," and no matter who the prime minister is, this policy should not be violated.
When the wall collapses, everyone pushes. Once Takahashi Hayato doesn't apologize, the fall of the government should not be far away. Remember, last week there were Japanese citizens calling for her resignation.
At the same time, China's countermeasures are also escalating step by step. The latest measure is to suspend the import of Japanese seafood products. As is well known, after Japan started discharging nuclear wastewater into the sea, China refused to import Japanese aquatic products for a long time until Japan allowed Chinese experts to independently test the nuclear wastewater, and China agreed to resume partial imports.

But less than half a year later, it was stopped again, which is really ironic. Ishibashi Shigeto must be very angry at Takahashi Hayato. This is his hard-won political legacy, now destroyed by one sentence from Takahashi Hayato, which is really a big loss.
