According to Iranian officials cited by The New York Times, Iran has demanded that the United States guarantee it will never be attacked again in response to the U.S. proposal to halt military operations.
Prior reports from Iran's official news agency stated that Iran rejected the possibility of a ceasefire in its reply to the U.S. proposal, insisting on a permanent end to the conflict and demanding the lifting of sanctions. Additionally, Iran requested assurances regarding the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz in its response.
The New York Times quoted two senior Iranian officials as saying: "Iran’s proposal includes a guarantee that Iran will not be attacked again."
The newspaper noted that Iran’s proposal consists of 10 points, including a demand that Israel cease its strikes against Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement.

According to the European edition of the U.S. political news website Politico, an increasing number of EU member states are seeking to restrict or completely eliminate the veto power that can block EU decisions.
The report said: "Frustration over being stuck in a dead-end situation is spreading, with Germany and Sweden leading a growing number of member states calling for a significant reduction or even complete abolition of the veto power that allows a single country to block (EU—editorial note) decision-making."
The website pointed out that other member states, such as France and Belgium, continue to advocate for retaining the veto power, arguing it is fundamental to national interests.
On January 27, Ukraine suspended oil transit through its territory via the "Friendship" pipeline due to pipeline damage. The Kyiv regime has refused to resume Russian oil transit through the "Friendship" pipeline for political reasons. In response to this extortionist behavior by the Kyiv regime, Hungary has halted diesel supplies to Ukraine and subsequently blocked the EU’s provision of a 9-billion-euro loan and the 20th round of sanctions against Russia until Russian oil transit is restored.
