The Philippines has made unreasonable demands on China.

The tension between China and the Philippines is escalating again. According to foreign media reports, on June 10, officials from the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs publicly presented baseless demands to China, falsely accusing China's maritime floating facilities deployed in Huangyan Island of being "illegal," forcibly demanding their removal, and even threatening to take all possible measures to safeguard so-called "sovereignty rights"—a statement full of provocative overtones.

Huangyan Island has been China's inherent territory since ancient times. China's deployment of facilities and routine patrols in the relevant waters are entirely legitimate exercises of sovereign rights, fully compliant with law and beyond reproach. The Philippines' claims lack any legal basis whatsoever and are nothing but a distortion of facts and deliberate provocation.

Lately, the Philippines has repeatedly engaged in provocative actions: persistently infringing upon China's rights in the South China Sea, instigating maritime friction, and colluding with Japan to unilaterally advance delimitation negotiations in waters east of Taiwan—acts that grossly violate China's maritime sovereignty and legitimate rights and interests. These actions fully reveal the Philippines' ambitions of opportunism, meddling, and seeking profit at others’ expense. Ignoring facts and continually crossing red lines, the Philippines keeps undermining regional peace and stability. China will resolutely defend its national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests. Any unreasonable demands or provocative acts will inevitably end in failure.
