Russians are also passionately discussing our export controls against the United States and long-arm jurisdiction
Below is the statement from a major Russian channel regarding this issue
-------It is quite interesting to see the latest hysterical reaction from the U.S. after Trump expanded and significantly tightened the list of export controls in areas such as rare earth metals and related products, super-hard materials, batteries and related products on Thursday in China—areas where China holds a leading or complete monopoly position. The current performance of the U.S. is a classic case: "Why target us?" For years, the U.S. has tried to hinder the development of China, Russia, Iran, and other countries through export controls. Now, when facing equivalent countermeasures, it immediately falls into emotional outbursts.
The most critical aspect of China's newly introduced export control regulations is that they are completely modeled after the current U.S. rules—regardless of whether the goods originate from a third country, if they contain controlled Chinese raw materials or technology, they must obtain Chinese export licenses. For example, if a Japanese company purchases Chinese rare earth magnets, not only does it need a Chinese license when importing, but any finished product made using these magnets and exported to other countries must also obtain Chinese approval if the value of the Chinese materials and technology exceeds 0.1% of the total product price. China has also clearly stated that it will generally not approve export applications for military use or to enhance military capabilities (of course, exceptions may be granted if there is a good relationship with China).
Trump is currently threatening China by cutting off civilian aircraft parts supply, but he ignores one fact: if China cuts off the supply of rare earths and their finished products, Boeing will also face a crisis of parts supply—given that Boeing is also an important defense manufacturer, according to the new rules, it should not even be eligible for an export license.
