South Korean media: China installs 100 solar panels per second, renewable energy is experiencing explosive growth!

On July 22, South Korean media "Edaily" published an article stating that as the world's second-largest economy, China has seen a sharp increase in the number of solar and wind power facilities this year, setting another world record in the renewable energy sector. Analysis shows that from January to May this year, the new solar and wind power facilities added by China are equivalent to the total power generation of Indonesia.

Lauri Miltveta, a senior researcher at the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI), analyzed, "From January to May this year, China added 198 GW of solar power facilities and 46 GW of wind power facilities. This amount is equivalent to the total power generation of Indonesia or Turkey."

In particular, in May alone, China installed 93 GW of solar power facilities. This is equivalent to installing nearly 100 solar panels per second. At the same time, wind power facilities also reached 26 GW, equivalent to about 5,300 wind turbines.

The actual power generation of solar panels and wind turbines varies depending on their location and weather, but Lauri estimates that the added capacity in May alone is equivalent to the total power generation of Poland, Sweden, and the UAE.

Lauri said, "We expected the installation speed of solar and wind energy in China to be very fast, but the actual speed is even faster."

China's cumulative solar power capacity has exceeded 1000 GW, accounting for half of the global solar power capacity. China is the world's largest supplier and installer of clean energy technology.
