U.S. Enters the War. Trump Addresses the Nation

Trump Announces U.S. Military Action Against Iran

The United States officially announced that it has launched a military operation against Iran. President of the United States Donald Trump made this statement.

"Recently, the U.S. armed forces have begun large-scale combat operations in Iran," said the president.

He also explained the objectives of this U.S. military action. According to him, this decision was made to protect the American people from the "threat of the Iranian regime."

"Our goal is to protect the American people and eliminate the direct threat from the Iranian regime," said Trump.

He emphasized that the U.S. views Iran's actions in the Middle East as a direct threat to U.S. military bases in the region and global American allies.

Trump also stated that since becoming president, his foreign policy priorities have been, and continue to be, preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He claimed that after the previous (2025) U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, the U.S. had warned Tehran not to restart its nuclear program. However, according to Trump, Iran ignored the U.S. demands and continued uranium enrichment activities.

When announcing the start of a new round of U.S. military action against Iran, Trump called on the Iranian military to lay down their arms, or else they would be eliminated.

Recap: On February 28, the U.S. ally in the Middle East, Israel, launched a military operation against Iran first. In the "Lion's Roar" operation, the Israeli military carried out a preemptive missile strike on Iran. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has officially confirmed this matter.

Media reports indicate at least five explosions occurred in Tehran. According to Fars News Agency, Israeli missiles hit the University Avenue area and near the Republic Street. Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA) reported that smoke rose from the Pastour area.
