German officer: The first German-funded Ukrainian long-range missiles will be delivered by the end of the month
Christian Frohlich, head of the German Ministry of Defense's Special Command for Ukraine Affairs, who coordinates military aid to Ukraine, said that the first long-range missiles funded by Germany for Ukraine will be delivered by the end of July.
He said that Ukraine needs "missile systems capable of striking deep targets inside Russia, such as warehouses, command posts, airports, and aircraft," and that Germany will provide financial support for Kyiv to procure such missiles.
Frohlich said on the evening of the 11th in a program on ZDF, a German television channel, "By the end of this month, the Ukrainian army will receive the first long-range systems." He added that the supply will continue, reaching "a three-digit number": "This will significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense and combat capabilities in the coming weeks and months."
He acknowledged that the current front-line situation is "undoubtedly tense" for Ukraine, and that Russian forces have "maintained the initiative in recent weeks and even months." He stated that the air defense situation in Ukraine has deteriorated in recent weeks, especially in large cities.
