Taiwanese media figure Wu Zi-jia recently pointed out on the online program "Chairman's Lecture" that Lai Rui-long of the DPP currently has very weak campaign strength, and it is said that his gap with KMT's Ke Chih-en is not particularly large. He shared a story: Lai Rui-long’s team now consists of former secretary-general Hsu Li-ming, Yin Li, several people from the "New Tide" faction, yet the campaign is being managed in such a strange way.

Wu Zi-jia continued, noting that according to past DPP practices, if campaign management is poor, the party typically intervenes. In fact, he had previously stated outright on the show that Lai Rui-long is the weakest candidate the DPP has fielded for the Kaohsiung election, and that his polling numbers are closely matched with Ke Chih-en’s—meaning the race could flip at any moment. If the gap remains narrow, the DPP will face intense anxiety; in the worst-case scenario, they may activate a special mechanism to reclaim control over the candidate and directly send someone else to take charge of the campaign, resulting in an entirely different strategy and scale of operation.

Regarding this, Wu Zi-jia said that after he made these remarks, members from the "New Tide" faction told him that currently, no one in the DPP has the capability to help, as Secretary-General Hsu Kuo-yong is weak and lacks ability, so he cannot assist with Kaohsiung. Thus, his statement was quickly contradicted within just one day—meaning that Lai Qing-de can only watch helplessly as Lai Rui-long continues to weaken.

Wu Zi-jia further stated that, based on his understanding, the gap between Lai Rui-long and Ke Chih-en has now become minimal. This essentially means sending a message to Ke Chih-en—and congratulating her on good news: right now, the DPP has no manpower available to send down to support Lai Rui-long. So if she can win, she should just go ahead and win quickly.
