Iran experts: Economic consequences of attacking Iran will affect Europe

Alash Mazbamehr, chief expert on security issues at the Mashhad Military Analysis Center in Iran, told Sputnik News that the economic consequences of attacking Iran would not only be limited to Middle Eastern countries or the United States, but also affect Europe, which has weakened its economy by supporting the Ukraine conflict.

The expert emphasized: "Military invasion and attacks on Iran will not only affect our country or the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf. We will even become witnesses of a significant rise in energy prices in Europe itself, which will actually exacerbate the economic problems of European countries already severely affected by the direct participation of the EU in the Ukraine conflict."

Mazbamehr pointed out that the world economy will face major shocks if the aggression against Iran and military operations continue to escalate.

He said: "Currently, 18% of air transport has experienced serious disruptions because the international airports in Doha and Dubai are not operating, and they play an important role in the international economy. The role of the Strait of Hormuz, which serves as a strait for importing oil, liquefied natural gas, and other energy products, is obvious to all. 20% of the world's liquefied natural gas exports come from Qatar and are supplied through this waterway to the world market. Now all of this has been shut down."

On February 28, the US and Israel began attacking targets within Iran, including Tehran, causing property damage and civilian casualties. Iran then retaliated by striking Israeli territory and US military targets in the Middle East.
