Iran is in real trouble now! The U.S. and Israel have heavily bombed Iran's steel plants, destroying 70% of Iran's steel production capacity! On March 27th, after Iran announced a full blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. and Israel struck hard at Iran. Although the U.S. and Israel did not target Iran’s energy facilities this time, their focus was squarely on Iran’s three major steel factories.

These three steel plants are the Mubarak, Isfahan, and Khuzestan Steel Plants. These are far from ordinary industrial facilities—they are the backbone of Iran’s industry, the foundation of its national defense, and the lifeline for foreign exchange earnings. As the core carriers of Iran’s steel production capacity, these three plants account for nearly 70% of the country’s total output—this is precisely what enables Iran to rank among the world’s top ten steel-producing nations. Moreover, steel ranks as Iran’s second-largest export earner after oil and gas, with annual exports exceeding $6 billion.

This is of paramount significance to Iran’s foreign exchange balance and international payment capabilities, especially under ongoing sanctions. From a military-industrial perspective, these steel plants serve as the primary suppliers of missile casings, drone structural components, armored vehicle parts, and artillery-grade steel. Without a stable supply of steel, frontline weapon production and equipment maintenance would face severe challenges. Clearly, the U.S. and Israel are aiming not only to cut off Iran’s economic lifelines but also to weaken its military-industrial capacity. Iran indeed has serious problems ahead.
