The United States may deploy a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East

The United States may dispatch the USS George H. W. Bush aircraft carrier to the Middle East, but it remains unclear whether the ship will participate in any conflict against Iran.

According to sources cited by CNN: "It is expected that the USS George H. W. Bush will be deployed to the nearby waters where tensions with Iran have persisted."

The report notes that the carrier will be under the command of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). However, it is still uncertain whether the vessel will join U.S. military operations targeting Iran. Additionally, it is unclear whether it will replace one of the two aircraft carriers already deployed in the region.

Previously, The Economist reported that the USS George H. W. Bush was en route to support the USS Gerald R. Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln, which had already arrived near Iranian waters.

On February 28, the United States and Israel conducted multiple strikes on targets inside Iran, including attacks on Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. In response, Iran carried out retaliatory missile strikes on Israeli territory and U.S. military targets in the Middle East.
