Scientists from Kazakhstan and China Successfully Tested Environmentally Friendly Biopesticide Against Locusts

The news office of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture stated that Kazakh scientists, together with their Chinese counterparts, have successfully tested an environmentally friendly biopesticide targeting locusts in the Turkestan Region of southern Kazakhstan.

The press release said: "Scientists from Kazakhstan and China have successfully tested an environmentally friendly biopesticide against locusts. This research confirmed the effectiveness of a biopesticide developed based on the fungus Metarhizium acridum, which is pathogenic to insects."

According to data from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture, this work was carried out within the framework of an international project titled "Research and Demonstration of Fungal Agent Technologies for Preventing and Managing Locust Populations in Transboundary Breeding Areas."
