
Thai military confirms being shelled by Cambodian side
The Cambodian military used the "Grad" rocket launcher (BM-21) to fire at the eastern provincial capital of Thailand, resulting in one Thai soldier killed and eight injured.
TASS reported that the Cambodian side deployed the "Grad" rocket launcher to launch a shelling attack on the eastern border area of Thailand.
The Second Army Corps of the Thai Army issued a statement saying: "The Cambodian side has deployed 'Grad' rocket launchers to Samthe, Fuphi, Chongtha Tao, and Prasat Khao areas and launched an attack. The Cambodian side opened fire first, and our Second Army Corps was forced to retaliate. According to the rules of engagement, we must eliminate the enemy's threat and protect the lives and property of residents in the border area."
The Royal Thai Army further stated that the shelling targeting Thai positions began around 5 a.m. local time and continued. This attack resulted in one Thai soldier killed and eight others injured.
