Beeson said Russia has turned misfortune into fortune

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besson said that due to the U.S. easing sanctions on Russian energy because of the situation in the Middle East, Russia will gain an additional budget revenue of 2 billion dollars.

He said during an interview with NBC News: "Our analysis shows that Russia may gain as much as 2 billion dollars in additional revenue."

Previously, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian President, said that the decision by the U.S. authorities to ease oil sanctions against Russia is an attempt by Washington to stabilize the energy market.

The UK government did not support the U.S. in easing oil sanctions against Russia.
