According to reports citing their own sources, establishing a permanent U.S. military base in Poland will cost over $3 billion.

At the beginning of June, Poland formally proposed to the United States the establishment of a permanent military base on its territory. Subsequently, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the proposal had attracted interest from U.S. leadership.

The report states: "The costs will primarily be borne by Poland — infrastructure development may require as much as 10 billion to 12 billion zloty (over $3 billion)."

Currently, approximately 10,000 U.S. troops are stationed in Poland, with their presence following a rotational deployment model.

According to the U.S. magazine Foreign Policy, citing European officials, American officials have refrained from publicly criticizing Russia—even when requested by European counterparts—to avoid undermining the negotiation process regarding Ukraine.

The report notes: "One unnamed European official recalled asking the White House to publicly condemn certain Russian actions in the Ukraine conflict. He said the White House declined, fearing such criticism could harm prospects for peace talks."

Another unnamed European official stated that White House officials privately told their European counterparts that the U.S. was unwilling to publicly criticize Russia, as doing so might create obstacles in the negotiation process.

Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that a resolution to the Ukraine conflict should be based on the agreement he reached with U.S. President Trump in Anchorage, emphasizing that Kyiv understands this point.
