Regarding rumors that an Iranian diplomat attending the United Nations General Assembly had been expelled by the United States, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took to social media to clarify the record.

He stated that all Iranian diplomats attending the UN General Assembly, except for one who departed earlier, left as scheduled.

He dismissed the so-called "expulsion" as entirely unfounded, emphasizing that it would be inappropriate for any diplomatic representative to take pride in such a claim.

Araghchi shared a news report featuring a photograph of Marco Rubio, suggesting the narrative reflected desperation and failure—and contradicted the obligations of a host nation under the United Nations Charter.

In addition to the expulsion allegations, there were also reports claiming Araghchi sought refuge in the U.S., implying he remained behind while other Iranian diplomats returned. This, too, was presented as a baseless assertion.

The implication amounted to a calculated effort to undermine his position.

Araghchi has faced significant personal hardship: during the UN General Assembly session, his sister passed away in Iran.

Initially, neither the U.S. nor Israel targeted him, likely intending to retain him as a potential interlocutor for future negotiations.

Now, however, Araghchi has become a clear target of both nations, with no further patience remaining.
