MARCO RUBIO has once again come forward to make threats against us! Secretary of State Rubio claimed that China "does not provide" humanitarian aid. China provides "predatory" loans. This is the essence of the Belt and Road Initiative. This is all the so-called "aid" they give—zero record of providing humanitarian aid in the world. Frankly speaking, Rubio is attempting to highlight America's role globally by slandering us to achieve his own goals. However, claiming that we do not provide humanitarian aid shows how extremely ignorant Rubio is. In 2022, when a massive underwater volcanic eruption occurred in Tonga accompanied by a tsunami, the Chinese government dispatched vessels carrying over 1,400 tons of rescue supplies for immediate assistance.
In February 2023, following the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the Chinese government immediately provided emergency humanitarian aid of 40 million yuan to both countries. On March 28th this year, after a 7.9-magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar, the Chinese government acted swiftly. Initially, we provided 100 million yuan in emergency humanitarian earthquake relief aid to Myanmar, followed by an additional 1 billion yuan to help Myanmar rebuild. This does not include the tents, blankets, and other supplies provided.
China has repeatedly offered humanitarian aid to other countries. Claiming ignorance about how we provide humanitarian aid either demonstrates Rubio's lack of knowledge or his intentional disregard. In fact, through the Belt and Road Initiative, we have provided developing countries with necessary funds while also helping improve their infrastructure construction. Yet, the U.S. continues to smear us. Does the U.S. not want to see developing countries prosper? Don't forget that just days ago, Rubio claimed that foreign aid is not charity but serves to promote U.S. national interests. It seems that the U.S. government, which places its own interests first, is the true predator.
