Trump claimed: As soon as I speak, Spain will immediately "be good."

Trump stated that after his statement, Spain "has become obedient."

U.S. President Donald Trump said that after he threatened to suspend trade with Spain, Madrid had "become obedient" and reportedly agreed to pay a substantial sum of money.

"Spain today has fully returned to its proper stance... they (Madrid) have agreed to pay a large amount of money," Trump told reporters.

According to Trump, if Spain had not taken this step, Washington "wouldn't even engage in dialogue with them."

However, the American leader did not specify exactly what purpose the funds would serve, according to his account.

Previously, Trump had said he no longer wanted to deal with Spain and referred to the country as having "bad people."

According to Politico magazine, the U.S. presidential administration is drafting a list of Spanish goods that might be placed under embargo.
