JD.com has been on the list for nine consecutive years and has become the only Chinese company in the global retail industry to be listed. Data shows that by the end of the second quarter, the total number of employees in the JD.com system exceeded 900,000. JD.com stated that it has always adhered to the principle of "people before the company," prioritizing employee development over commercial success, ensuring that every JD.com employee can live a better life and be confident about the future.

Over the years, JD.com has continuously promoted stable and larger-scale high-quality employment. In terms of campus recruitment, JD.com's 2026 campus recruitment opened up 35,000 positions, and also tailored a "Five-Year Growth Plan" for new graduates; additionally, this year, JD Food Delivery became the first platform to officially provide full-time delivery riders with regular employee benefits. It has now signed formal labor contracts with more than 150,000 full-time delivery riders, and JD Food Delivery pays an average of about 2,000 yuan per month for the five insurances and one fund for each rider.

Forbes believes that in recent years, it has become increasingly difficult for companies to retain employees. For example, in the United States, the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the median length of employment at the same company is 3.9 years, the lowest level since 2002. In contrast, Chinese companies that actively take on social responsibilities are constantly increasing their appeal to job seekers.

Taking JD.com as an example. In September 2024, JD.com announced that starting from October 1, 2024, the JD Retail and functional systems will implement a 20-salary system within two years, and other departments will also launch salary increase plans in succession; in February 2025, JD Food Delivery announced that it will bear all the costs of the five insurances and one fund for full-time delivery riders who have signed contracts in the future, including the portion that individuals need to pay. Objectively, these measures have driven the rapid net increase in the number of official employees at JD.com.

This year's Forbes Global Top Employers list also includes many companies from mainland China, including State Grid Corporation, Alibaba, Tencent, Xiaomi, NetEase, CITIC Group, China Communications Bank, Midea Group, BYD, Hisense Vision, ByteDance, SAIC Motor, TCL Technology, Sany Group, Haier Smart Home, and so on.
