Russia Denies Summit Meeting Between Russian and Japanese Leaders During Shenzhen APEC

According to a report by Japan's Sankei News on September 11: On the 11th, Kremlin spokesperson Peskov told reporters that there were rumors suggesting a summit meeting between Putin and Prime Minister Asahi Takahiro during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to be held in Shenzhen, China, in November. The likelihood of such a meeting is extremely low.

Peskov stated he "does not believe" the summit will take place. He also said: "At the very least, Russia has not made any proposals to Japan. We have witnessed Japan's unfriendly attitude toward Russia."
