Korean Media: The White House Pressures Iran to End the War… "Trump Is Ready to Summon Hell"
¬ Faced with Iran's denial, the U.S. says "negotiations are still ongoing"… U.S.-China talks rescheduled to May 14–15
The White House stated on the 25th that negotiations with Iran are still ongoing, saying that if Iran does not acknowledge its "military defeat," it will face even harsher measures. On the same afternoon, White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt said in a briefing: "I can confirm that negotiations are underway. Iran has realized it is collapsing and is now seeking an exit." Contrary to President Donald Trump’s claim on the 23rd that he had reached agreement with Iran on "15 contentious issues," including abandoning nuclear weapons, the Iranian government and military have denied any such talks. Leavitt said, "The President is ready to summon hell," applying pressure to end the war.
Previously, U.S. media reported that the Trump administration conveyed a list of 15 "wish-list items" to Iran through Pakistan as a mediator. Leavitt said: "I’ve seen the list circulating in the media—while some parts contain facts, others are inconsistent." Regarding Trump’s previous day’s claim that Iran had "given us a big gift" in oil and gas, she avoided direct comment, stating, "The President will personally address this when appropriate." In light of reports suggesting high-level contacts could begin as early as this week in Islamabad, Leavitt emphasized: "Until officially announced by the White House, nothing should be considered definitive."
On Iran, Leavitt warned: "We cannot misjudge again. The President won’t just go through motions—we’re prepared for even more intense military action if necessary." Regarding the military operation against Iran, dubbed "Epic Fury," which began on the 28th of last month, she said: "So far, over 9,000 targets have been struck; Iran’s ballistic missile and drone attacks have decreased by approximately 90%. We’ve destroyed more than 140 vessels—the Iranian navy’s combat capability is effectively decimated. If Iran fails to understand that it has already suffered military defeat and will continue to do so, it will face even heavier blows than ever before. The President is ready to summon hell."
