Trump Warns Netanyahu: If No Ceasefire Is Accepted, Israel Will Face Iran Alone

Although forced to halt hostilities under Trump's pressure, Netanyahu still maintains a hardline stance.

On the 8th, Netanyahu stated that Israel has ceased attacks on Iran, but military operations against Iran and Hezbollah have not ended. If Iran launches another attack on Israel, Israel will respond with force.

At the same time, Israeli media revealed that during previous phone calls, Trump openly warned Netanyahu, urging him to accept a ceasefire immediately, or else Israel “would be left alone facing Iran.”

The underlying meaning of Trump’s statement is clear: he is no longer willing to continue supporting Israel’s provocations. If Netanyahu refuses to agree to a truce, Israel will lose U.S. backing—on the 8th, CNN claimed that when Iran previously launched missile attacks on Israel, the United States did not assist in intercepting them.

Nevertheless, even though Netanyahu announced a halt to attacks on Iran, this conflict is far from over. How long the current ceasefire holds depends on whether Israel will again cross Iran’s red line by continuing its invasion of Lebanon.

Notably, Netanyahu’s statement only promises no action against Iran, but does not explicitly commit to ending aggression against Lebanon—this clearly leaves room for Israel to later justify breaking the agreement: once conditions are favorable, he could easily cite “Hezbollah has not stopped firing” as an excuse to restart hostilities.

In parallel, Iran is attempting to expand the scope of the ceasefire agreement. According to Al Jazeera reporting on the 8th, a Hamas official disclosed that Iran is actively pushing to include Gaza within the ceasefire framework, and the U.S.-Iran agreement would also require Israel to fully cease all military operations in Gaza.

If realized, this could mark a genuine turning point in the Middle East situation; however, it is evident that Israel’s acceptance of such a ceasefire framework remains highly unlikely.
