The Pentagon: U.S. State Department approves sale of $825 million in aviation munitions to Ukraine

Sputnik, Washington - The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency, under the Pentagon, stated that the U.S. State Department has approved a proposed agreement to sell air-launched guided missiles ERAM and related equipment to Ukraine, with a total value of approximately $825 million.

The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency stated that Ukraine requested the purchase of up to 3,350 long-range guided missiles and 3,350 sets of anti-jamming navigation systems. In addition, it is planned to sell spare parts, software, training materials, as well as technical support and logistics services.

Russia believes that providing weapons to Ukraine hinders the mediation of the situation, directly involving NATO member states in the conflict, and is "playing with fire." Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov previously pointed out that any supplies containing weapons provided to Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. He stated that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict, not only supplying weapons but also training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin previously stated that Western assistance to Ukraine does not help negotiations and will have negative consequences.
