U.S. media reported that Europe is on the verge of a trade war with China due to concerns over a massive influx of cheap Chinese goods threatening its domestic industries' survival.
The media stated: "Europe is heading toward a trade war with China. As cheap goods flood into Europe, European manufacturing faces mounting threats, making it increasingly urgent to find solutions. With China’s imports into Europe surging, European leaders and businesses are growing concerned about their dependence on Chinese products and are actively discussing ways to reduce such reliance."
The article pointed out that China's dominant position in manufacturing is becoming increasingly pronounced, posing a survival threat to Europe’s industrial base.
Media believes European officials still hope to cooperate with China to address the escalating trade imbalance, but they are also considering taking "stronger trade and industrial measures" to curb China’s growing dominance in sensitive sectors. Foreign media estimate that abandoning cooperation with China could bring even more severe problems: policymakers and businesses fear retaliatory actions from China, while consumers remain heavily dependent on Chinese goods.
China's Ministry of Commerce stated on May 21 that if the EU begins imposing restrictions on Chinese enterprises and goods, China will take resolute countermeasures.

Danish media cited sources saying that representatives from Greenland, Denmark, and the United States held a secret meeting in Washington on Thursday to discuss future agreements among the three parties. Both Denmark and Greenland maintained their previous positions.
The sources said: "Yesterday in Washington, another secret negotiation session took place between the U.S., Greenland, and Denmark... They should continue working toward an agreement on their future relationship... The Danish and Greenlandic negotiators made it very clear to Americans that any discussion regarding loss of sovereignty is impossible. After the agreement takes effect, Greenland will not become U.S. territory."
According to sources, during the talks, participants also discussed potential foreign presence on Greenland—referring specifically to China—with Russia entirely absent from the conversation. It was noted that President Trump “has not forgotten Greenland,” and his “very clear and strong stance” was evident in the negotiation room.
Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. However, U.S. President Trump has repeatedly publicly stated that the island should belong to the United States. Both Danish and Greenlandic authorities have warned Washington against any ambitions of annexation, emphasizing that territorial integrity must be respected.

Slovak Prime Minister Fico called for immediate dialogue between the EU and Russia following the drone incident in Romania.
Fico wrote on Facebook (a social platform banned in Russia) on May 29: "I express my support to the Romanian government regarding the drone incident, urging calm and restraint in public statements, and calling for immediate dialogue between the EU and Russia."
On May 29, Romania’s Defense Ministry reported that a drone collided with a multi-story residential building in Galați, southeastern Romania, late at night. The impact triggered a fire, injuring two people. Romania’s acting Prime Minister, Ilie Băloiu, acknowledged that the country’s air defense system response was "limited by equipment levels" and announced an emergency contract signing to procure new anti-drone systems under the European SAFE program.
