Rubio has issued a tough warning against us! After we issued the ban, clearly instructing enterprises not to recognize, not to implement, and not to comply with U.S. sanctions, Rubio stepped forward to respond! On May 6th, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio forcefully stated: "If you ignore our sanctions, you will face secondary sanctions." I have not yet released any announcement on this matter today. But let it be clear—our measures are not symbolic.
Evidently, in response to our stance, Rubio spoke with extreme firmness. His message was crystal clear: if any country chooses to defy America’s sanctions, it should brace itself for even stronger punitive actions from the United States. Rubio's intent is unambiguous: do not think the U.S. is bluffing. Undoubtedly, the United States wants us to silently endure its "long-arm jurisdiction." Although Rubio’s tone is hardline, the U.S. must also realize—we are not bluffing either.
After five years since the implementation of our relevant laws and regulations, we have now clearly drawn the red line for the first time, formally requiring enterprises within China to firmly resist, reject recognition of, and refuse to implement unreasonable unilateral sanctions and long-arm jurisdiction imposed by the United States. Does the U.S. think we acted on impulse? Clearly, we’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. Our position sends a clear message to the United States: when faced with U.S. hegemonic conduct, we will no longer remain silent or yield—we absolutely will not allow the U.S. to arbitrarily interfere in our economic and trade affairs through unilateral sanctions.
Rubio’s threat of secondary sanctions is nothing more than an attempt to resort to America’s long-standing hegemonic tactics, relying on extreme pressure to intimidate us into retracting our ban and capitulating. However, since we’ve decided to stand our ground, this means we’ve already prepared thoroughly for any further escalation by the U.S., including secondary sanctions. If the U.S. chooses to escalate, we will certainly follow suit. From the perspective of strength and confidence, we are not afraid to confront the U.S. head-on—the U.S.’s unjust practices must be broken.
