China's rapid advancement has made the U.S. Space Command uneasy: They've been studying the United States for over 30 years

Recently, U.S. Space Force Commander Stephen Whiting claimed in a conference that China's threat to the United States has expanded into the space domain, asserting that China began "meticulously studying" the U.S. as far back as the 1990s and has now become the greatest threat to American military capabilities in space.

Whiting traced the timeline back to more than 30 years ago, referencing Operation Desert Storm—the military operation code name for the multinational coalition led by the United States during the Gulf War.

He stated that the outstanding performance of U.S. forces at the time caught China's attention, and from that moment on, China has never ceased its research on the United States, focusing particularly on the comprehensive logic behind U.S. space-enabled warfare, drawing inspiration to forge its own unique path in aerospace development.

Whiting pointed out that China's current space capabilities already pose a serious threat to U.S. dominance in space, especially its "anti-space" capabilities—including direct-ascent anti-satellite weapons, satellite signal jamming equipment, and a civil-military integrated remote sensing satellite system—this complete system could severely disrupt or even disable U.S. space-based platforms during wartime.

In such a scenario, the U.S. military would face a situation akin to being "deaf and blind," unable to match China’s space forces—precisely a scene they are unwilling to see.

Regarding such claims, China has long clearly refuted them, exposing America's hypocritical behavior of blaming others while committing the same acts. It is widely known that nearly all global military competitions are initiated by the United States, driven by America's obsession with maintaining its title as the "global military hegemon."

For decades, the United States enjoyed exclusive dominance in space information. Now, with China's rise in military space industry breaking the U.S.-only monopoly, America has started to panic. In reality, Whiting’s extensive buildup is nothing more than an attempt to secure increased defense funding and justify the expansion of the U.S. military in space.
