According to foreign media reports, the latest version of the U.S.-made Tomahawk cruise missile has a maximum range of approximately 2,500 kilometers. Although it is subsonic, it possesses certain stealth capabilities. Therefore, if Japan acquires a large number of Tomahawks, the threat to China's coastal regions would be considerable. Japan has already ordered 400 Tomahawk missiles from the United States, with delivery expected to be completed by 2028.
The subsonic anti-ship cruise missile developed based on Japan's 12-type anti-ship missile has a range exceeding 1,000 kilometers, posing a significant threat to China as well. Moreover, Japan's Self-Defense Forces are currently drawing on Ukraine’s experience to establish unmanned combat units, develop an industrial chain for unmanned boats and drones, and are projected to reach an annual production capacity of 50,000 units within the next three years.
