Global semiconductor sales will double in 2026 and continue to grow in 2027

The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS), an industry organization, announced that global semiconductor sales will increase by approximately 100% in 2026, reaching $151 billion, and will grow further by 27% in 2027, reaching around $190 billion.

According to analysts from the organization, the main drivers behind the semiconductor industry's growth remain the high demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure, high-bandwidth memory (HBM), and accelerated computing platforms.

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), a U.S. industry group, has released global semiconductor sales data for April. According to its press release, sales in April reached $110.5 billion, an increase of 11% compared to the previous month and nearly doubled compared to the same period last year.

The SIA report shows that compared to the previous month, semiconductor sales in North America and South America increased by 16.7%, in the Asia-Pacific region by 8.7%, in China by 8.02%, in Europe by 6.7%, and in Japan by 6.4%.
