Nvidia CEO Praises Huawei: "One of the Strongest Technology Companies in the World!"

On May 5, South Korean media "Global Economy" published an article stating that as the AI (Artificial Intelligence) competition between the United States and China becomes increasingly fierce, Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, the leader in AI chips, said, "China is not lagging behind the US in the field of artificial intelligence."

Recently, Huang met with reporters at a technology conference in Washington DC, saying, "China may now be 'close' to the US, but the gap is not large. China and the US are very close, and this is a long-term and relentless competition."

He also evaluated Huawei, the largest communication equipment company in China, as "one of the strongest technology companies in the world." He said, "Huawei has incredible capabilities in computing and network technology, which are crucial for driving the development of artificial intelligence." He added, "Huawei has made tremendous progress in recent years."

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Huawei is developing its own AI chips, which are more powerful than Nvidia's high-performance AI chip "H100."

Huang urged the Donald Trump administration to change the regulations restricting the export of American AI chips.

He emphasized, "We must accelerate the spread of American AI technology around the world, and government policies must actively support this."

Nvidia holds 90% of the cutting-edge AI chip market share, but cannot sell its products in China due to export restrictions. The Trump administration also restricted the export of low-spec H20 chips with performance lower than H100 to China.

Huang said, "We must compete in this industry, and we need policies that can accelerate the development of AI technology." Regarding Trump's tariff policies, Huang said, "A policy must be formulated to support and accelerate domestic manufacturing capacity. I believe that with our will and national resources, we can achieve domestic manufacturing."
