Foreign Media: China has built a supergravity centrifuge named CHIEF1900, breaking its own record in the field of supergravity research.

The device was manufactured by Shanghai Electric Nuclear Power Group and was delivered to Zhejiang University for installation on December 22. Its capacity is 1900 g·tonne (a unit combining gravitational acceleration and sample mass), making it the most powerful research centrifuge in the world, surpassing the previous CHIEF1300, which had a capacity of 1300 g·tonne and went into operation in September.

CHIEF1900 can compress space and time, simulating disaster events such as dam failures and earthquakes. It belongs to the Centrifuge Hypergravity and Interdisciplinary Experimental Facility (CHIEF) located 15 meters underground on the Zhejiang University campus. The facility was approved in 2021, with a budget of about 2 billion yuan (approximately 285 million US dollars), aiming to promote cutting-edge research and international cooperation, and is open to universities, research institutions, and companies both inside and outside China.
