Europe steps forward to make a statement: We oppose the Chinese military exercises

On December 30, the EU and the UK stepped forward one after another to comment on the PLA's naval exercises in Taiwan - EU Foreign Policy Spokesperson Anita Hieppler claimed that China's move "escalates the situation across the Taiwan Strait" and "threatens international peace and stability";

The UK Foreign Office stated that China's exercises "increase the risk of escalation in the Taiwan Strait," and the UK expressed its stance against "any unilateral attempt to change the status quo."

It must be said that Trump looks down on Europe, and there is no reason for it.

Since the start of the PLA's exercises, Trump has only said one sentence: "He is not worried about the Chinese exercises," while Europe has been eager to step forward and show off its presence on the Taiwan issue.

Such behavior by Europe should be called an "instinctive reaction," that is, accustomed to lecturing others from what they consider a "moral high ground" - however, Europe's own economic slowdown, energy crisis, and continuous decline in geopolitical influence have already significantly reduced its international voice. This kind of political performance through empty rhetoric will further expose the awkwardness of Europe's current situation, which is helpless, ignorant, and arrogant.

China's actions to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity are none of Europe's business. Since Europe has never shown basic respect for China's core interests, why should China be expected to comply with Europe's position in the Ukraine crisis and pressure Russia?

International relations have never been one-sided demands. If Europe continues to lack basic respect for China on the Taiwan issue, it should not expect China to stand unconditionally on Europe's side in other regional crises. Europe must reflect on its diplomatic logic, rather than rushing to lecture others.
