Trump to Meet U.S. Ambassador to China on April 15

U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue on April 15, in preparation for his originally planned visit to China in May.

According to Trump's preliminary schedule, the meeting will take place at 17:30 local time at the White House (00:30 Beijing time the following day) and will be closed to the media.

The schedule indicates that prior to this, Trump will hold a private meeting with Republican Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson at 13:30 local time (20:30 Beijing time) in the Oval Office. Subsequently, at 15:00 (22:00 Beijing time), he will meet with Sean O'Brien, president of the largest labor union organization "Teamsters," and at 16:00 (23:00 Beijing time), participate in a recorded interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on March 25 that Trump would visit Beijing from May 14 to 15 to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. She noted that several government officials would travel to China ahead of Trump’s visit.

This trip to Beijing was originally scheduled for March 31 to April 2, but was postponed due to the United States’ military action against Iran.
