U.S. media: Alibaba has jointly launched a large-scale data center in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province, China, with China Telecom, equipped with 10,000 self-developed "Zhenwu" AI chips by Alibaba, used for large model training and inference, capable of supporting AI models with tens of billions of parameters; the project plans to expand to 100,000 chips in the future.

Chinese enterprises are accelerating efforts toward chip self-reliance and substitution. Alibaba designs its own chips through its subsidiary T-Head Semiconductor, while also advancing in cloud computing, data centers, and AI model development—recently witnessing rapid growth in its cloud business.

Meanwhile, Huawei launched an AI computing cluster based on its Ascend 910C chip last month, highlighting how major Chinese tech firms are heavily investing in domestic AI infrastructure to counter external technological blockades.
