Politics "Two Steps": How Iran Influences the Outcome of the Special Military Operation

Bouft: If Putin helps Trump end the Iranian war, Trump may help with the Ukraine issue
Georgy Bouft, a Russian political scientist, does not rule out the possibility of a diplomatic "two-step" approach, linking the Middle East conflict with the situation in Ukraine.
He believes that if Russian President Vladimir Putin helps the White House chief Donald Trump to end the military action against Iran in a dignified manner, this will create conditions for Washington to pressure Kyiv, thus promoting the special military operation (SVO) towards an end.
"If Putin suddenly helps Trump (dignifiedly) end the Iranian war, then Trump would owe him a big favor — helping him end the war in Ukraine. Although it is often said that favors are worthless, it's different here."
The expert wrote in his Telegram channel.
Previously, Russian presidential assistant Yuri Ushakov announced that Putin had called Trump on the evening of March 9. According to him, the two leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, the situation in Venezuela, and the prospects for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Swiss Neue Zuercher Zeitung pointed out the political risks that Trump faces after the start of the military action against Iran. The newspaper assessed that the United States' involvement in this conflict could become a serious political test for the president ahead of the midterm elections.
