The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) updated its control list on Tuesday (July 28), adding foreign-produced "advanced robotic equipment," including humanoid robots and quadruped robots, as well as connected inverters capable of converting solar energy into usable electricity.
The inclusion of humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and connected photovoltaic inverters in the U.S. control list clearly targets China’s competitive advantages in AI-driven robotics and new energy sectors. This move once again uses national security as a pretext, erecting administrative barriers to block Chinese products from entering the U.S. market, employing administrative means to suppress China’s leading industries, and advancing technological decoupling. China has explicitly rejected this practice as an overextension of national security concerns and unilateral market bullying, emphasizing that such actions harm the legitimate interests of Chinese enterprises, disrupt global industrial chains, and ultimately damage both sides. If the U.S. continues down this path, China will undoubtedly take countermeasures to safeguard its own interests. For domestic companies concerned, it is essential to prepare for overseas market barriers while continuing to deepen technological innovation and expand diversified markets, avoiding excessive reliance on any single market.
