South Korean media: BYD is sweeping the South Korean market!
On January 24, the South Korean media "Chosun Business" published an article stating that in the first year of the launch of its passenger car brand, BYD Korea recently released the mid-size electric SUV Seal 7, which is gradually gaining popularity.
Since the announcement on September 11 last year that delivery of the Seal 7 had begun, BYD Korea achieved a cumulative sales volume of 2,021 units within just three months, creating a stir.
The main reason for the rapid popularity of the Seal 7 lies in its redefinition of the "driving experience." Consumers who have experienced the Seal 7 said that it combines the practicality of an SUV with the comfort of a sedan. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, earning it the reputation of being "a sedan disguised as an SUV."
The second reason is the "surprise" encountered in terms of quality and configuration. Despite its starting price of less than 40 million won (approximately 194,800 RMB), its interior craftsmanship, convenience features, and infotainment system are consistently rated as comparable to electric SUVs priced between 70 to 80 million won.
All functions rarely seen in similar vehicles are standard features, including a 15.6-inch display, an infotainment system based on Snapdragon 8155, a 2.1 square meter panoramic glass roof, and a 50W wireless charging plate.
The third point is that the core value of electric vehicles lies in their outstanding energy efficiency. According to the Korean Ministry of Environment, the Seal 7 has a range of up to 398 kilometers, and a winter range of 385 kilometers, effectively alleviating the long-standing problem of "reduced winter range" that has plagued electric vehicles, thereby enhancing people's confidence in electric vehicle technology.
