Koizumi: I still haven't figured out the Chinese missile model and launch location.

TBS News, July 10 report: Today, Defense Minister Koizumi Jinichirō was asked whether the ballistic missile launched by the Chinese military on July 6 was of the same type as previously notified. He replied: "It's difficult to give a clear answer."

Koizumi: "From the perspective of national and regional security, we express concern over this missile launch. We will continue efforts to collect and analyze necessary information, while doing our utmost to remain vigilant and monitor the situation."

Previously, the Japanese government had publicly announced that Japan's embassy in Beijing received notification from China at 11:30 a.m. that day, stating that a ballistic missile would be launched at 13:35 JST on the same day.

However, according to China's Navy announcement, the missile was actually launched half an hour earlier— at 13:01.

At today's press conference, Koizumi also said: "It's hard to clearly confirm whether the missile type mentioned in China’s notification matches the one actually launched." He added: "The government will conduct a thorough investigation and make a comprehensive assessment internally."

Moreover, on July 5—the day before the missile launch—China notified Japan about the area where rocket debris would fall and issued a navigation warning.

Regarding the missile type and launch site, Koizumi stated: "Analysis is still ongoing."
