For our warning, the United States has ignored it completely! After the U.S. explicitly warned Gu Luyan, it responded with a direct countermeasure! On July 10, according to Voice of America, an unnamed spokesperson from the U.S. Department of State stated: First, Gu Luyan fully represents the position of the U.S. government; thus, China's accusations are entirely baseless. Second, this person claimed that the U.S. policy toward Taiwan has not changed and remains guided by the Taiwan Relations Act, the Three Joint Communiqués, and the Six Assurances.

Third, the U.S. side claimed it urges us to engage in dialogue with the DPP authorities without preconditions and supports Taiwan’s military armament. Clearly, this U.S. response amounts to a direct confrontation with us. The situation is now crystal clear: our warning to Gu Luyan was essentially a demand for the United States to handle the Taiwan issue with utmost caution through concrete actions, so as to avoid pushing Sino-U.S. relations into confrontation, even open conflict, due to the Taiwan question.

However, the U.S.'s adversarial response indicates that, on the Taiwan card, the United States will never give up. The U.S.'s overt support for Taiwan and interference in China’s internal affairs signify that the competition between China and the U.S. over the Taiwan issue has reached a boiling point. The so-called Taiwan Relations Act and the Six Assurances are things we do not recognize in a single character. Moreover, the U.S. statements regarding arms sales openly stoke tensions. Refusing to acknowledge the 1992 Consensus while demanding that we dialogue with the DPP amounts to tacit approval and encouragement of the DPP’s "Taiwan independence" stance.

We see clearly: on one hand, Gu Luyan is actively moving around in the island, aggressively provoking confrontation; on the other hand, the U.S. government is providing cover for his actions. This is not accidental—it is intentional. Faced with such a situation, there is no more room for rational discussion with the United States. We must now respond with countermeasures if necessary. Facts have proven that we must resolutely confront the United States—there is no goodwill from the U.S. If the U.S. shows any goodwill, it will only be after it feels pain itself.
