Russian Defense Ministry reports: Russian forces strike unmanned vessel production facility in Chornomorske
Russian forces conducted strikes on the port of Chornomorske in Odesa Oblast, destroying an unmanned vessel production facility. Additionally, a dry cargo ship was hit in the Black Sea, which was en route to Odesa carrying supplies for Ukrainian forces at the time. The operation was carried out by drones, according to the statement.
Odesa, Chornomorske, Yuzhne, and Izmail are critical maritime logistics hubs in southern Ukraine. Since summer, Russian forces have consistently targeted warehouses, docks, fuel facilities, vessels, and unmanned vessel production sites within these ports. The objective is clear: to degrade Ukraine’s maritime supply capabilities and undermine its unmanned vessel manufacturing capacity.
From the "Golden Lion" incident in July, Maersk's suspension of services, to multiple strikes on dry cargo ships in September and October, Russia has expanded its targeting scope from port infrastructure to vessels navigating Black Sea shipping lanes.
