On March 13, after visiting the Romanian F-16 pilot European training center, Zelenskyy posted on his Telegram channel:
I met with Ukrainian military personnel who are receiving training at the Romanian F-16 pilot European training center. We discussed the characteristics and conditions of the training, explored the challenges faced by pilots and how the country can help solve these issues.
In this center, our students are going through different stages of training: theoretical learning, practical flight training. The first group of Ukrainian pilots have been receiving training at this center since 2024, some of whom have already carried out combat missions to resist the Russian invasion.
Thank you to Romania, the instructors at the center, and everyone who has helped us defend our homeland and fight against Russian terrorism. We will always be grateful to the United States for providing fighter jets to enhance our air defense capabilities, and we also thank Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, which have already delivered these aircraft to Ukraine.
