Kazakhstan's Nuclear Power Struggle: Kazakhstan National Atomic Energy Industry Company Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Slovak Electric Company in the Nuclear Energy Field
Kazakh International News Agency - The Kazakhstan National Atomic Energy Industry Company (Kazatomprom) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Slovak Electric Company (Slovenské elektrárne) in the field of nuclear energy.
According to the National Atomic Energy Industry Company, the memorandum aims to supply natural uranium enrichment and uranium dioxide (UO₂) as nuclear fuel to the Slovak nuclear power plants.
"This agreement is an important step for us to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with our European partners. For Slovakia, nuclear energy is a stable and reliable source of energy. Therefore, we believe that this partnership will be beneficial in the long term," said Merezhan Yusupov, Chairman of the Board of the National Atomic Energy Industry Company.
It is known that the Slovak Electric Company is a power company based in Bratislava, Slovakia, operating the country's nuclear power plants, hydroelectric power plants, and fossil fuel power plants.
The National Atomic Energy Industry Company has signed similar documents with European companies such as Axpo Power AG from Switzerland, and Orano and Framatome from France.
