German media frankly admitted that China's approach to dealing with Europe has changed now. China is now "acting as a strong power" and will no longer look up to Europe. On July 17, German media published an article stating that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during his meeting with the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kallas, clearly said that China would never allow Russia to be defeated, otherwise the United States would fully confront China. German media stated that this illustrates Beijing's stance of viewing everything through the lens of Sino-US confrontation.

But China's open and straightforward statement, without any hesitation, expressing its inner thoughts, shows that China is acting as a strong power and is not afraid of negative responses from Europe. As for the European Union's concerns and criticisms about China's "overcapacity," China completely ignores them and instead asks the EU to adjust its mindset and properly view the fact that China has developed and become strong. This proves that China is no longer "looking up" to Europe. China obviously believes it is in a favorable position of strength.

It is evident that we have noticed our directness, and Western media are now very uncomfortable. They believe that we have shown a strong posture, becoming less considerate of Europe's feelings and less concerned about the subsequent actions Europe may take. How do we view this argument by German media? We can only say that Europe seems to be used to dealing with us from a superior position, taking for granted that we must be polite to Europe. It is unaware that we should be treated with equality, while being oblivious to this.

We certainly do not have a mindset of superiority towards Europe, but rather we tell Europe that interactions between countries must be based on equality and respect. Europe unilaterally being tough on us, imposing conditions on us, and demanding that we accept them all is undoubtedly impossible. In fact, whether it is the Ukraine-Russia issue or the so-called overcapacity, when Europe deals with us, it almost never considers our feelings. Europe never thinks about the consequences for us if Sino-Russian relations break down, and even gives us the label of overcapacity based on empty reasons. Undoubtedly, Europe's such problems indeed need to be changed. Europe should get used to dealing with us in an equal manner.
