Japanese media: Challenging a military superpower is not beneficial for small countries
On January 8, former Asahi TV commentator Tetsu Tamagawa appeared on the "Hatori Shin Morning Show" program (broadcast from Monday to Friday at 8:00 AM).
Tamagawa commented on China's Ministry of Commerce's announcement on the 6th to strengthen export controls on dual-use goods to Japan, saying, "This is related to Hayana's testimony in the Diet regarding the situation in Taiwan."
Tamagawa said, "Although it seems that China is deliberately looking for an excuse, this excuse was provided by Japan itself. Any small country provoking a military superpower will not bring any benefits. Ukraine and Venezuela are examples."
"This is why I think the national leadership needs to consider how much consequences doing unnecessary things can cause. At least, I believe the Japanese government is very afraid of what might happen in the Japanese business community and what may happen in the future."
