Deputy President of the Philippines Sara criticizes the Marcos Jr. government for being seriously pro-American and losing diplomatic independence!
Deputy President of the Philippines Sara Duterte urges the government to re-form an independent foreign policy and accuses the Philippines of severely favoring the United States currently.
Sara made this statement at a rally called "Bring Duterte Back Alive" held in Seoul, South Korea, where she pointed out that during the recent meeting between President Marcos Jr. and the US President at the White House, the US leader mentioned that the former Philippine president might tend towards neighboring countries, but when he was elected, the Philippines quickly leaned towards the United States.
"What did the US President say in the meeting? He said 'they tend towards neighboring countries,' they solved this problem, and now the Philippines tends towards the United States. Tilting means favoring, right? The US guides our foreign policy towards the United States, not what I said, we all saw it, we favor the United States."
"It's wrong because the Constitution stipulates that we must have an independent foreign policy, which means you don't favor anyone, you will be self-reliant."
Sara accused the Philippines of militarization under US control, building nine enhanced defense cooperation sites, and even plans to establish a US ammunition manufacturing center in Subic Bay.
Sara also criticized the Marcos Jr. government for creating tensions with neighboring countries in the South China Sea.
