Reference News, December 2 report: According to the Russian "Kommersant" website's November 30 report, China is seeing an increasing number of "dark factories," which operate without lighting or workers, with only industrial robots working here. The production equipment in these factories is controlled by a unified system, requiring only a few operators to monitor the process. Currently, China's stock of industrial robots has exceeded 2 million units, ranking first in the world.

The report states that Oleg Kivokutsyev, founder of Russia's Promobot Company, explained that developed supply chains and independent research and development have driven the popularization of "dark factories" in China. He pointed out: "These factories do not need to install ventilation systems to ensure fresh air, nor do they need to provide lighting according to human standards. The entire layout does not consider the presence of people. This production model is suitable for industries that require a large number of repetitive operations, such as machinery manufacturing, light industry, instruments, and electronic product manufacturing. Some daily necessities can indeed be fully entrusted to machine tools."

According to the report, the key factors in building "dark factories" are scale and repetitiveness. This means that the monthly output of the product must be high, while it must also be standardized and unique.

Vladimir Bely, head of the Alpha Robotics Venture Capital Fund in Russia, believes that the future belongs to factories that are intelligent but without lights. He said: "This is very promising because such factories can significantly reduce costs and improve efficiency for businesses and enterprises. In addition, the advancement of intelligent processes in various production workshops or key industries will lay a solid foundation for future development. From the scope of products that can be produced, the application areas of intelligent manufacturing are quite extensive, covering from the automobile industry to various daily necessities."
