Foreign media: Tesla has asked its suppliers to avoid using Chinese-made components in cars produced in the United States.
Tesla and its suppliers have replaced some Chinese-made components, and plan to switch all other components to non-Chinese-made ones within the next one or two years.
This move is aimed at dealing with tariff fluctuations in the US-China trade dispute. Tesla has increased procurement of North American parts to cope with tariff threats. Additionally, General Motors also required its suppliers this week to remove Chinese-made components from their supply chains.
