Washington, August 19 -- RIA Novosti

White House spokesperson Karoline Levitt responded to the question of "whether the United States may send troops to Venezuela," stating that President Trump is prepared to use all means of American power to curb drug trafficking. Regarding three U.S. warships reportedly carrying 4,000 marines heading toward the coast of Venezuela, reporters asked Levitt at a press briefing on Tuesday whether Trump was considering landing U.S. forces in Venezuela.

Levitt replied, "On the issue of Venezuela, President Trump's position has always been very clear. He is prepared to use all elements of American power to prevent drugs from flowing into our country and to bring those responsible to justice." The White House does not rule out the possibility of sending troops to Venezuela to combat drug trafficking.

Levitt emphasized: Trump is prepared to take all means to combat drug cartels in Venezuela.
